Joining the B.K.S. Iyengar Yoga Association (Vancouver), includes the following benefits:
Access to Workshops
Our Association puts on several workshops every year and sends out announcements via our newsletter. Members receive these in advance and thus have access to priority registration. Members also get to to attend our workshop at a reduced fee.
Workshop Bursaries
A limited number of bursaries are available to students and teachers (including teachers in training) who attend workshops sponsored by the B.K.S. Iyengar Yoga Association (Vancouver). Currently there are two bursaries available for each of these categories of applicant per workshop. The bursary amount for each individual is half the fee of the workshop. Applicants are eligible to receive a workshop bursary every second year.

Study Bursaries
A limited number of bursaries (of up to $150 each) are available to students who wish to register for a full term of Iyengar Yoga classes in the Greater Vancouver Area / Lower Mainland. Terms usually run for between 2 and 3 months.

Professional Development Fund
Professional development funds may be requested by certified Iyengar Yoga teachers and teacher trainees who are members in good standing of the B.K.S. Iyengar Association of Vancouver who meet the requirements listed below.
Applicants are eligible once every three years in each category.
New deadlines: The B.K.S. Iyengar Yoga Association (Vancouver) will consider all applications for professional development funding twice yearly. The first deadline is April 30th and the second is October 31st of the current year. Applications should be received before those dates in order to be considered. The amount of professional development monies available for those travelling to study at RIMYI is $1000.00.
These funds may be applied for once every three years and priority will be given to those applicants who are required to attend RIMYI for an upcoming assessment and/or first time applicants.
The amount of professional development monies available to those wishing to attend workshops or teacher training not sponsored by the B.K.S. Iyengar Yoga Association (Vancouver) conducted by an Iyengar yoga teacher, certified at least one level higher than the applicant, is up to $600.00. These funds may be applied for once every three years and priority will be given to first time applicants.
All applications will be considered, but considered does not guarantee an award of funds. Special circumstances not covered by this criteria, or those on the application form, will be reviewed on an individual basis.

CPR Training
Teachers and teachers in training can apply to receive a $50.00 rebate for CPR training. To qualify for that rebate, submit of copy of your certificate using the form below, once you’ve completed the certified CPR program and a cheque will be mailed to you.
