Gwynneth discovered Iyengar Yoga in 1996 in Hawaii and it was love at first experience and she trained in Victoria, B.C. beginning in 1999. Gwynneth is passionate about Iyengar Yoga being a comprehensive form of self-care with the intention that a regular yoga practice done correctly can alleviate many pains now and yet to come. No matter where you are, it is always a perfect place to start. Physical practice as a meditation in action affects the mental faculties and the emotional state finds presence as it is refreshed and brought to rest. Gwynneth is confident teaching teens to seniors; newcomers to longtime practitioners; active to restorative poses; inversions to pranayama; supported to classic poses as well as wall ropes. Gwynneth has a keen eye and is skilled at bringing adjustments or props to her students in order to guide each student to find their fullest expression of a pose while keeping the breath smooth. In her spare time, away from her young family, she works in humanistic care services as a Quality of Life Expert and enjoys painting, figure drawing, writing, social connection, knitting, animals and cooking. Gwynneth has been teaching regularly on zoom since May 2020 and welcomes any questions or concerns by email or to set up a phone or zoom call to discuss classes.
