Live Demonstration with Raya Uma Datta

Sep 15, 2026

What is yoga, really?
Cultch theatreBeyond stretching and beyond fitness, this special evening offers a rare opportunity to experience yoga as a living art—expressed through clarity, precision, and deep awareness.

Join Raya for a live demonstration inspired by Light on Yoga—the seminal text by B.K.S. Iyengar, that introduced yoga to the West. Drawing from a wide range of postures, Raya will bring the practice to life on stage, weaving demonstration with explanation to offer insight into how and why we practice.

The evening will also include a short demonstration by local practitioners, followed by a Q&A with Raya.

Set in the beautiful Cultch – Historic Theatre in Vancouver, this special gathering invites a broader community to come together, witness it firsthand, and discover yoga in a way that is both accessible and engaging.

Who This Is For
This event is open to all.

Whether you are new to yoga, a long time practitioner, or simply curious, you are warmly invited. Students of all yoga traditions, as well as friends and family, are welcome.
