Equanimity
Mar 20 - 22, 2026
Our first dip into yoga begins with the body. As we become more sensitive, we refine outer shapes and open inner spaces. Perception seeps inward from what can be seen to what can only be felt. The mind becomes absorbed and the asana begins to blossom.
Over the course of this workshop, we will explore equanimity – from body considerations of gravity, direction, extension and expansion to breath and mind considerations that can enrich our experience in the moment and, importantly, provide buoyancy in life. We will study how breath awareness in asana prepares us for pranayama, and how pranayama, in turn, supports and complements our asana practice.
In asana… the pose first brings inner balance and harmony, but in the end it is merely the outer expression of the inner harmony. – B.K.S. Iyengar
