Breaking the Rules | A Weekend Intensive with Stephanie Tencer

Sometimes, we stick with what we know, because well, it works. But sometimes, those tried and true yoga habits can actually stifle creativity and dim enthusiasm. Join Stephanie for a weekend of playful explorations that highlight the essence of ingenuity and adaptability in Iyengar Yoga.

About Stephanie

Stephanie came to Iyengar yoga after years of debilitating back pain, trying many forms of rehabilitation and eventually having had surgery. While her healed back has become a testament to the power of Iyengar Yoga, she is quick to point out that physical health is only one of many its remarkable gifts. Stephanie is deeply moved by the playfulness and self-discovery inherent to Iyengar Yoga and she regularly weaves these themes into her classes.

Stephanie is both Director and Senior Teacher at Studio Po, a Toronto-based yoga studio. She holds a Level 3 Iyengar Yoga teaching certificate and is actively engaged with the Iyengar Yoga Association of Canada (IYAC).

Currently, Stephanie is co-leading IYAC’s Education Roundtable. She is also a mentor to new teachers, an assessor, and one of a select group of Canadian teachers qualified to teach the therapeutic aspects of Iyengar Yoga.

Stephanie travels annually to Pune, India to study at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Institute.
