Build Strength with Warrior III Workshop with Luci Yamamoto

Warrior III looks simple. But many practitioners avoid it. Why? This one-legged balance pose requires full-body strength, especially in the hips, legs, feet, and core. Adding to the challenge, it’s a forward bend, so standing-leg hamstrings must lengthen under load.
In this workshop, we’ll go through relevant muscle/joint groups from the ground up—addressing common challenges, including flexibility, range of motion, stability, and stamina. We’ll try a range of Warrior III variations; you’ll find one that works for you! Expect a vigorous, but non-jarring, workout for your entire body.

2-4pm, February 1, 2025, $36

This workshop is part of my “Monthly Iyengar Yoga Tune-Up” series at Kitsilano Community Centre. Participants should have approximately one year of yoga experience and no major injuries. Props are available but, if possible, please bring your own mat, strap, blanket(s), and any particular items that you might need.
