Melissa tried her first yoga class in 1991 to manage stress at work and has been teaching for 25 years. She currently holds her Intermediate Junior 3 certification. She is grateful to have studied with the Iyengars at RIMYI in Pune, India on four occasions and enjoys opportunities to work with Canadian Senior teachers. Melissa has used yoga as a daily vitamin pill to increase energy and positive thinking, heal sports related injuries, improve physical imbalance due to scoliosis and maintain stability and clarity through life’s changes. Melissa stands in awe of yoga’s power to help “every body” in their pursuit of health, happiness and well- being. It works! She likes to infuse her classes with fun, self-exploration and self- acceptance. Melissa welcomes new students and gets excited when students discover the many gifts of Iyengar yoga.
