Long Holds and Restorative Workshop with Luci Yamamoto

It’s that time of the year again—whatever that means to you. Whether you like or dislike the holidays, it’s a busy and charged season for everyone. Prepare yourself, physically and mentally, with yoga for R&R.
In this workshop, we’ll start with a series of long-held poses. Although active, not passive, these holds should feel releasing rather than strenuous. During the second hour, we’ll shift into calming restorative poses.
For some, long holds and restorative poses are surprisingly intense. It’s not always easy to be still—and stiffer bodies can find static stretching quite challenging. We’ll work together to find true ease in each pose.

This workshop is part of my “Monthly Iyengar Yoga Tune-Up” series at Kitsilano Community Centre. Participants should have approximately one year of yoga experience and no major injuries. The community centre has a decent prop supply, but please bring a mat, blanket(s), and any other props that you’d prefer using.
