"After a session of yoga, the mind becomes tranquil and passive" B.K.S Iyengar.
This monthly Friday afternoon class is taught by Louie Ettling for adept students who can hold a ten minute independent headstand, balance in Sirsasana II in the middle of the room and have a dedicated home practice. We will focus on what each practitioner could work on in the weeks between classes, in order to grow in their practice.

Fridays 1:00 – 4:00 pm
The Yoga Space will be open for three-hour practice sessions on Friday afternoons throughout the year. Similar to the daily practice at RIMYI in India, participants will be welcome to use the studio equipment to delve into their own practice in the company of other teachers. While the main focus is to deepen ones independent practice, being with other teachers provides the opportunity to ask questions and give each other help when needed. Twenty-one Friday afternoons will be designated for practice sessions annually. Participating in the Pune Practice series is a commitment to one's own practice. Louie and/or Linda will be in attendance.

Jan 28 Yoga Kurunta — Working with ropes in Iyengar yoga for traction and counter-force, allowing ease and support in yoga poses and space for the spine.
Mar 4 Pranayama — The art and science of yoga breathing. Exercises to prepare the body for one of the eight disciplines of self-realization.
Apr 8 Home Practice — Developing your practice at home: a variety of introductory poses plus how to properly structure and sequence your home practice.

Jul 17 – 22 / Summer Urban Retreat with Louie Ettling

Enjoy a five-day retreat without having to leave the city. Held at The Yoga Space.
Daily Schedule:
8:30 am / pranayama (and learning to sit still and upright)
9:30 – 10:00 am / short break, bring your own tea
10:00 am – 12:30 pm / Asana class (builds on all categories of work from day to day)
12:30 – 2:00 pm / lunch (bring your own if preferred)
2:00 – 4:30 pm / Asana class (inversions and hips)

Nov 6 – Dec 15 / 40-Day Sadhana

"Sadhana" means practice. When we commit to a practice of 40 days in a row we are better able to sustain a personal practice afterwards. A regular yoga practice enhances our wellbeing and extends to all aspects of our life.
